40 percent of the energy used in Hungary in 2009 (1040 PJ) was produced by inland power-plants, the least was imported. Infinitesimal part of the inland production, approximately 2-3 per cent of it arose from renewel energy sources…
The share of renewable energy to the whole energy consumption is 6,6 percents. Our position is in the middle of fields in Europe with this consumption rate. Therefore we are vulnerable.

Hungary's agro-ecological endowments, ploughlands and the afforestation rates allow the proportion of renewel energy to be the largest.
